ABOUT CNBC’S 2024 NATIONAL CONSULTATION
The 2024 Conference of National Black Churches (CNBC) Annual National Consultation is convened by the top religious leaders of the largest historically Black denominations in the country. They are joined by Pastors, Faith and Lay Leaders, business, non-profit, and thought leaders, policymakers, community activists, and social justice advocates. Throughout its forty-year history, CNBC has convened this national gathering to address some of the country’s most significant crises related to health disparities, systemic racism, gun violence, suicide, and other urgent social justice issues challenging our communities, such as the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Annual National Consultation is an essential and effective ecumenical gathering because it challenges attendees to innovate beyond convention and ignites commitment and action. The Black Church is pivotal in spearheading transformative change, championing health and social justice initiatives that nurture and empower future generations to reduce health inequity and systemic racism. With its rich history, unwavering resilience, and deep-rooted community connections, the Black Church stands as a beacon of hope, guiding us toward a brighter and more prosperous future for all. The funding generated through this effort will support the implementation of our programmatic work as CNBC continues to confront the devastating impact that COVID-19 has had on our communities, continuing and very real systemic racism, and the mental health crisis that has paralyzed America. CNBC considers health equity a social justice issue and provides general vaccine education, voter education, and programming that addresses health disparities, social justice, and gun violence. Most recently, CNBC partnered with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to address the carnage wreaked on Black Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) communities. We invite you to participate in this life-changing cross-racial gathering as we confront challenges and find solutions that will lead us toward healing and hope.
